Racetrack Road - East Sector

Project Highlights:

• Construction of the east sector of Racetrack Road, two adjoining roadways and a portion of Bayard Raceways parking lot in St. Johns County
• Project provides St. Johns County with improved traffic flow through this rapidly growing area
• Racetrack Road construction entailed removal of the existing roadway and replacing it with a 4-lane, divided thoroughfare beginning at U.S. Highway 1 and extending west approximately 1.2 miles
• Construction of approximately 600 LF of new 4-lane entrance road into the Bartram Springs development 
• Removal and reconstruction of approximately 1,300 LF of U.S. Highway 1 were required to accommodate the new lanes of traffic at Racetrack Road
• Haskell self-performed all work, with the exception of electrical, traffic signals and wearing surface
• Construction of the three roadways and parking lot occurred simultaneously
• Project components included complete sitework, road construction, flexible paving, portland cement paving, hot plant-mixed bituminous, logistical services, stormwater, utilities, landscaping & grassing, lighting & signalization, striping & signage and maintenance of traffic
• Awards: Associated Builders and Contractors 2004 Award of Excellence
